Shahidha Bari is Professor of Fashion Cultures and Histories at the London College of Fashion (University of the Arts London). She works in the fields of literature, philosophy and psychoanalysis, as well as visual and material culture. She was a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Thinker in 2011 and won the Observer Anthony Burgess Arts Prize in 2015. She writes for the TLS, Times Higher Education and The Guardian and Financial Times newspapers.  She is a regular arts critic on BBC Radio 4 and is an occasional presenter of BBC Radio 3's Free Thinking. Her most recent work is entitled Dressed: The Secret Life of Clothes (2019).
