Dr. Marie Riegels Melchior is Associate Professor in European Ethnology at the University of Copenhagen. In her own research and teaching, she focuses mainly on Danish fashion history, fashion museology, fashion studies, critical cultural theory and methodology. Her recent publications include contributions to the edited book Dansk Design NU (Strandberg, 2016), the book Fashion and Museums, Theory and Practice (Bloomsbury Academic, 2014), co-edited with Birgitta Svensson and the monograph Dansk på mode! Fortællinger om design, identitet og historie i og omkring dansk modeindustri (Museum Tusculanum Press, 2013). Since 2015, she has served on the editorial board of the journal Ethnologia Scandinavica. A Journal for Nordic Ethnology.
