Denise Nicole Green is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fiber Science and Apparel Design, a faculty member in the American Indian and Indigenous Studies Program and graduate faculty field member in the department of Anthropology at Cornell University, where she also serves as Director and Curator of the Cornell Costume & Textile Collection. Dr. Green received a PhD in Socio-Cultural Anthropology from the University of British Columbia where she worked with Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations to examine the relationship between textiles, regalia and traditional territories. She completed a Master’s of Science in Textiles at the University of California – Davis where she explored how masculine identities were negotiated through dress at the Burning Man Project. More broadly, Dr. Green’s research uses ethnography, video production, archival methods and curatorial practice to explore the production and consumption of fashion, textiles and visual design.
